Understanding Your Employment Pass Renewal in Singapore

The COMPASS Framework:

For all Employment Pass renewal applications expiring from September 1, 2024, onwards, the Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS) is a mandatory requirement. This points-based system evaluates candidates across four foundational pillars (Salary, Qualifications, Diversity, and Support for Local Employment) and two bonus criteria (Skills Bonus and Strategic Economic Priorities Bonus). Our services help you assess your COMPASS score and strategize for a successful renewal.

Updated Salary Thresholds:

  • For new Employment Pass applications from January 1, 2025, the minimum qualifying salary has been raised.
  • For EP renewal applications expiring from January 1, 2026, onwards, these revised, higher salary thresholds will also apply, increasing progressively with age. We provide up-to-date information on the specific salary benchmarks for your sector and age group.

Timely Submission:

You can initiate your Employment Pass Renewal up to six months before your current EP expires. We highly recommend starting the process at least 6 months in advance to allow for adequate processing time and any potential requests for additional information from MOM.
