Resignation: If an EP holder decides to resign, they must notify their employer and initiate the cancellation process. It’s important to do this formally to ensure that all legal obligations are met.
Change of Employment: When an EP holder receives a new job offer, they must cancel their existing EP once the new EP is approved. This ensures a smooth transition and compliance with MOM regulations.
Relocation: If an individual decides to move back to their home country or to another country for personal reasons, they will need to cancel their EP. This helps maintain accurate records and prevents any legal issues in the future.
Retirement: Upon reaching retirement age, an EP holder may choose to cancel their pass, signaling their exit from the workforce.

- Settle all outstanding employment issues that the pass holder may raise, including salary payment.
- Buy an air ticket and pay for any connecting transport costs to the international port of entry in your pass holder’s home country/region nearest to their hometown, unless the pass holder agrees in writing to bear the cost.

Importance of the Cancellation Process
The cancellation process is not just a formality; it is a critical step that impacts various aspects, including:
Legal Compliance: Proper cancellation ensures that both the employer and employee are compliant with MOM regulations, preventing potential fines or legal issues.
Final Settlements: Completing the cancellation process is essential for settling any final payments, such as severance pay, accrued leave, or other entitlements that need to be resolved before leaving the company.
